We’re delighted to announce that Paul Bergin, Head of the Public Safety Group at Sopra Steria, has been elected by industry peers and fellow members to join the techUK’s
Justice and Emergency Services Management Committee (JESMC).
The committee has a significant influence on policy in Policing, Emergency Services and Justice and steers the strategic direction of the public safety programme. A core focus is on creating opportunities for open and early private / public sector engagement
and create collective dialogue in order to build a vibrant public safety sector by building and developing partnerships and networks across the industry.
With twenty-five years’ experience working alongside Police and other CNI groups in mission critical technology, Paul’s expertise in Technology, Product, Strategy and Business Development will no doubt be an asset to the committee. His ambition
within his role at Sopra Steria as well as his new role on the committee, is to help drive change moving away from inefficient legacy processes and systems, to leverage technological advances that can truly transform the way the sector evolves.
However, what most inspires Paul is the opportunity to build collaborative relationships to ensure decisions are made to deliver better outcomes for the public:
“I’m really looking forward to building relationships with my peers in the industry and to provide support and insight to address the challenges we’re facing as sector. It’s all about making a positive difference, aligning
our goals and finding innovative solutions that drive change and benefit all parties across the public safety sector.” Paul Bergin
Georgina Henley, Head of Justice and Emergency Services at techUK, commented:
“The aim is to make public services within the
Emergency Service and Justice more collaborative and effective. For this we need a diverse mix of skills and experience and most importantly people who are leaders in their field, and who are passionate about making change happen. Paul joins a fantastic
group of individuals and I look forward to seeing what we can achieve together this year and beyond as the programme grows across the blue light and criminal justice landscape.”
